Out with the old.

Submitted by don on Mon, 03/31/2008 - 05:02.

Yesterday was the day we said good bye to an old friend....our boat of 9 years. It took its last ride behind our car to Duchow Marine www.duchowsfoxlake.com. I didn't get as attached to this boat as some of our previous ones (16' Starcraft, 16' Glastron, 18' Reinell, 19' Bayliner). Maybe it was due to the fact that we only had it 9 years as opposed to our last Bayliner & Reinell lasting 11 & 13 years respectively. Time to move on to the new phase in our life...the elderly..the relaxed...THE PONTOON PHASE. The new pontoon should be in the first part of May. It is a 20' with a 115 HP outboard. We can still pull water skiers but the wake will sure be different than a ski boat. You can check it out at www.verandaboats.com. The first pontoon that shows up has yellow trim...that is the one. I'd write more but keeping in line with my new lifestyle, I should relax and read a couple more chapters about the American Revolution.

OK, I changed my mind....I'm not done writing. Yesterday I was trimming the pine trees along our drive. You can check it out thanks to Google. Click on the link and double click the green arrow to get the "Street View". Our is the driveway with the white mailbox and white sign next to it. You will probably have to rotate the picture counter clock wise.

Ours is the drive to the right with the white sign in front of it. Anyway, I started a fire to burn the debris. While moving some of the limbs around the fire, one of the sticks bounced up and hit me on the lips. I thought it scratched me....worse....it was red hot and burned two spots on my upper & lower lip. I look like I have a huge cold sore. So far....no infection.
